Nampa transfer changed to Meridian East

All right, so to start off the transfer call got called out wrong and I am in Meridian East, instead of Nampa. It has been an interesting week having both my companion and I new to the area. He is from Ghana and has been out about 11 months. His name is Elder Ofe. e is a hard worker, but really different in the way he teaches and goes about doing things.  It was a tough start and I said a lot of prayers. He is a lot like my first companion, but maybe a little better. It has been a struggle. I also have been working my tail off to know the area and get to know the people. I have done really well, I think, for one week and my comp really hasn't got it down nearly as well which is kind of frustrating. He isn't very common-sense smart and is very oblivious too things going on around him and remembering things.

The people we live with are the Poulsons and they are super nice people. They are a lot more clean and normal than the last family that we lived with. I do miss my last area a lot. Biking has been all right, but it irritates my knee quite a bit. We also had to bike two days in the rain and that blew. The district is all right. There are a lot of really weird elders and maybe one or two cool ones, so that is tough.

On the ride home a kid was playing Beastie Boys and it brought me back to the days riding around with Chad when I was like 6...it was pretty funny. One thing that's weird that my companion does is you know how after a dinner or member appointment you share a spiritual thought? Well instead of sharing a scripture and expounding on it, he does a 25 minute long thing which is kind of awkward and just weird. He also will ramble on and on when he teaches our investigators and I even get lost in what he is saying. He is good, but there are struggles. We have a good amount of investigators and a pretty good area so far. Since my suit pants are larger on the bottom, they get caught on my bike and I have to watch myself or they will rip. Also, I borrowed another missionaries bike for $25, so that I wouldn't have to buy one for so much more and carry it from area to area. We cover four wards and it is so much easier than the twelve I covered before. I could really use some nike dri fit long socks like the ones I played basketball in, snickers marathon bars (I get hungry from all the riding), and a CD player. What is Jace and Arlene's address?

So I will call this week before Sunday to set up a time and I will be able to Skype. I will talk to you this weekend and I'm excited to see you over the computer. Things are going well and I'm working super hard because I want to be senior after Elder Ofe leaves or I leave. Peace and blessings!

Love Elder Larsen
