8 MONTHS TODAY = 1/3!!! Well the week started off horribly, washing a pen with all my whites as I'm sure most of you heard. Also that same day, all six of our set lessons cancelled. On the bright side, we bounced back from that and got a record high for my mission of 32 lessons taught. The work is going so good out here, but we have run into five different people that would be baptized if it wasn't for Word of Wisdom problems. It gets frustrating, but we just do our part and wait until they are ready and give them encouragement and the spirit into their lives. I cover the towns of Payette and Fruitland (2 wards in each) and combined I think it about 6,000ish. There are a couple of farming areas and just old buildings and things like that. It's mostly small town life which isn't bad. I went on exchanges with an elder that has been out fifteen months and is still a junior companion. Let's just say all five lessons that day, I taught 98% of them. It was tough, but I just looked at it like a competition and experiences like that just test my skills.
One of our investigators went to jail and so once a week we go and teach him in the prison, through the glass on those phones. It's super cool and I took a picture on the phone so I will have to get it off there and show you guys. He will have about three more weeks. He seems like a different person and he started crying during the lesson, so we have hope for him.
So you know how you told me about Los Cucos in Utah? Well this Catholic priest that is super cool, that loves the missionaries, headed down to SLC today and is picking me up some salsa...who would have thought that I would have such sick hookups...Mom I know you would be jealous if you didn't live 100 yrds from one :)
We have president's interviews tomorrow, so we will see what new and interesting things come up in that. That's about it for this week. There is a ward activity this Saturday, and we will have four investigators there. They are playing softball, so I'm super excited about that. All and all things are going great.
Sounds like the reunion was really fun and Mom pulled her normal manner-ways with the video camera. Can't wait to go boating in two years. It finally rained yesterday, so that was so nice because its been high 90s or more all summer. Love ya' guys. People to pray for are the Borens, Ben Cox, and Mike Martin. All of them are progressing, but just need a little boost. Talk to ya' later. PEACE!
Love,
Elder Larsen
ps- my knee is feeling a lot better...me and my companion have been running 2-3 miles everyday! That and the different excersices seem to help!
