Well, I'm here in Delco. It was good spending time with the AP's. They were very nice and it was a good start. The first couple of days were a little tough. Some of the same emotions and feelings as before. But we taught a lady on Friday night about faith and enduring to the end. That helped me a lot. That is my motto, to rely up on the Lord and endure to the end.
On Saturday, when I got here, I had to drive an extra 30 minutes to Malta, where I met my companion. He is a great guy and also the DL. He is from California and has been out one year. We get along well and no problems. We aren't best friends, but it works.
This place is like a foreign country to me, with farmland and out in the middle of nowhere. Kinda different, but it's all right. The people are very nice and its about 90% Mormon around here. We mostly work with part-member families, inactivies, and a couple of non-members. Everyone that we talk to at least knows quite a bit about the church, which is good and bad. The weather has been pretty crazy. It has been raining, snowing, or major winds ever since I got here, so that's always nice. We live at a member's house. They are a pretty messy couple and love to talk about random things. They are nice, but very interesting. We get lots of meals from members and so we don't spend too much money. This area covers eleven wards and one branch. It is the largest area in the mission. It's very spread out and it's going to be tough trying to meet and visit everyone. I came in with about two weeks left in the transfer. It's been interesting so far that all the lessons that we've taught, I have been able to learn more from them than probably the investigator has.
Today for Pday we did our normal morning activites and cleaned up the room a little bit, went bowling with some of the missionaries in our zone, and we are going to play volleyball after this. The guys in my zone are all right, but no one that I have really connected with. Hopefully that gets better. But if not then, oh well. Just wait for a transfer or something.
I've been trying to stay positive and upbeat. Time does move pretty slowly, not gonna lie. Two years is a long time, but I've got it. So just use the mission office address for everything. They can forward letters, but if you send a package, then use first class or else they can't forward it to me. Things that would be helpful while I'm out is if you could send my plain white kirkland t shirt, my cardinals champion shirt, and a lint roller. The clothes are at the house in Lehi. Have Cascia post about the address stuff on facebook, if she would so people know what to do and all that. Things sound like they are going well and it was good to hear from people so far. I'm working the best I can and sticking it out.
Thanks for the support and love you guys,
Elder Larsen
