Rhyme

As the alarm clock goes off, I slowly awaken
I think about the different roads I'll be takin'.
It would feel so nice to fall back to sleep
But how would I be able to help Thy shepherd's sheep?
As I study and pray for the day's lessons ahead
The importance of these is more rewarding than bed.
I'm constantly with my companion and there is no chance of getting away
So I turn to my knees and do the one thing that helps, I pray.
Giving up comes to mind on and off when times are tough,
But why would I let Satan win, that's not good enough.
As the day goes on, everything looks nothing but down,
As times like these, most would give up and frown.
One good lesson per day is all I need to change my mood.
It's a better feeling than eating Mom's homemade food.
I begin to realize that I'm a missionary. I'm a servant of the Lord.
This gives me the spark I need, the spark to soar.
I've now accomplished what I had set out to do this day.
I'm trying to follow the Lord's example in all I do and say.
At the end of the day I thank God for what He has done,
But what I'm most grateful for is that He gave His only begotten Son.
As I lay in bed, I think of the day's past events
And how grateful I am for the chance to repent.
My eyes slowly close, but I've accomplished my feat.
Tomorrow for sure I will arise quicker from my deep sleep.

I wrote this because of a poem that I read by Troy something about missions and how they don't relate to what Christ went through. Just thought I would make my own and in my own thoughts and words.
