This week was a great week. Nothing quite as exciting as last week, but it was
still solid. Sounds like mom is getting old, so what else is new :). Sounds
like things are going well with everyone, but I still haven't heard from Cale
or Chad, so I guess no dessert for them during the family reunion hahaha.
I found out this week that at the local gas station you pump your gas and then go inside and pay. How dumb is that? This isn't the 40's anymore. Oh well, my quote of this place is "We are in Declo, Idaho." Also we found out that on the 11th we get to go to Boise and hear from M. Russell Ballard. He is doing a private thing with all the Boise missionaries. I'm really excited to hear from him and also to see some of my old friends. It's also interesting that I just finished yesterday reading his book, Our Search For Happiness, which was really good to read. Yes, I know, I actually read a book!
We had exchanges for a day this week and I went with two other missionaries so there was three of us. It was a good change, but they are good missionaries, but don't keep a lot of the rules. At first, it was like, well this is nice getting a change from being a missionary and then I realized that that isn't the type of missionary that I want to be. So it was a good experience that helped me a lot, but it was good to get back to my area.
Mom I was wondering if you ever got my watch battery fixed and also I found out that for the pants and stuff, we wears suits from general conference to general conference. So that means that April to October is slacks and October to April is suits. So that's a good timeline for you. No Rush! Also you asked for some tracting tips, but I don't have any because it's too spread out here to tract and we get so many member referrals that we stay busy with that.
The work is going great. We have been teaching some golden investigators and found two more over the weekend. I'm really excited about some of our appointments this week. Our nine-year-old got baptized on Saturday and the Spirit was so strong. We talked with her mom and we will start teaching her on Wednesday, if she stays out of jail. Overall, that is all going super well. We found an investigator whose name is Steve Nye...yes Steve Nye the Science Guy. I couldn't stop laughing and remembering the good old days.
The tooth that I got filled before I left still hurts on occasion and I've flossed twice everyday since I've been out. Three days ago when I flossed that place it started bleeding really bad and I remembered you saying you had that happen and didn't you have to get a root canal? So, if it gets any worse I might have to go in. I still have that crazy cough and I might go in for that as well if I can find the time.
Send me a picture with Dad in his Fast Sunday tie if you would. I added one of me in this email as you will see. Hopefully all the pictures work out. Also yesterday was the first time in twenty years that I watched the Super Bowl on Sunday. Well, let me clarify. We were teaching a family and they just put it on mute. My eyes wandered from time to time. I saw most of the 2nd half though, so that was kind of funny that it took me going on a mission to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday.
If you could also send me some CDs. My comp doesn't have very many and his selection is mostly classical and I hate classical music. The music just has to be uplifting and not drive away the Spirit. The only thing that I want that I can think of is the Inside Out Innocence CD and whatever else you come up with will be fine.
Things with the companion are better. It's amazing what prayer and working at it can do. I just told myself that I have to live with him for at least another six weeks, so I might as well make the best of it. It's worked out pretty well so far. Still some rough times, but we teach really well together. I think that's it.
The two pictures of the house are not the house I live in. Its a super weird house that we stumbled on that is built underground and I don't know what the door is. It's Declo, Idaho for you! Hope you enjoy the pictures and remember to save them for me and post them on Facebook if you would. Love you guys and hope all is well.
