Well this week was great. A lot of teaching appointments with some solid success. We tracked into some refugee families and we are teaching Steven,16, who is from Sudan and he accepted the baptism commitment for June 16th, but didn't show up to church. We will see what happens this week. Then we are also teaching a family of four from The Congo and they accepted a baptism commitment for June 2nd. They come to church every Sunday, but the mom speaks broken English, so it is hard to teach. But, they are very excited about the church and they love the family aspect of it. So, right now we have six baptism dates for June and found three new investigators this week. We had a competition in our zone of who could find the most new investigators this week and we won. The ZLs are taking us out to lunch.
Once a week we mow the families lawn that we live with and as I was mowing, I kept thinking back on all the lawns that I mowed over the summers in Colorado. We also teach a Bible study class once a week at this retirement home and when all the different people come in (about eight) all I can think of is the days in Kansas, but there is no one that drools like Tom, hahha.
Since I have been in Boise, I have run into two girls that recognize me from BYUI or know my friends, but I've never met them before. It's kind of cool and weird at the same time. One of my favorite families from Declo came to Boise for the state track meet and so they took us out to breakfast. It was really great to visit with them.
There aren't really any families in this area that I've connected with, so that stinks. My companion and I went to a baptism in his old area in Nampa on Saturday and as we were getting closer I recognized that we were super close to Cascia's old house. So, I remembered how to get there and took some pictures outside of it, but I had to use another missionaries camera because I didn't have mine, so when I get them I will send them to you guys.
Today, a lady from the ward took us over to see the BSU stadium and it was pretty gay :). I also saw the trophy from the Fiesta Bowl and it has the OU and BSU helmets next to it, so I just took a picture with the OU helmet (once again with another elder's camera). It was horrible to have to look at it.
Well, I think that is about it for the week. It was a good week and things are going well. Halfway done with the transfer and I hit my 5 month mark yesterday. Just a CD walkman player is fine mom and I have speakers, so don't worry about that either. The only other thing to add is Zyrtec. I don't have enough money to buy more and I'm out. Thanks for all the love and support!
