Baptisms, Progress and More

Congratulations to Chad and Staci!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weird to think that the two new ones will be eighteen months when I get back. So the family history center was closed again yesterday so we are once again emailing today.

This week was pretty good, but the weekend was amazing. We had a really great lesson with a 40ish guy, John Carlson, that would be baptized if it wasn't for the Word of Wisdom. On the way to the appointment,  I asked my companion what he thought we should teach him and right when I asked, I thought of the atonement.  By the time that we got to his house, my companion wanted to talk about the atonement and the sacrament. Then I was planning all day to tell John that if it wasn't for the Word of Wisdom, he could get baptized.  Halfway through the lesson he brought it up himself and said exactly what I was planning on asking.  We all fasted on Sunday about it and I'm hoping that things will progress with him and we will be able to set a date, maybe at his lesson on Wednesday.

A lady at the retirement home got upset with me because I asked what you "guys" thought about the lesson. She said they all weren't guys and that I should work on that hahaha. On Friday, when we got home, I jokingly went in the house first and locked my companion out and so he started knocking and ringing the doorbell over and over.  So, while he did that I went out the back door and snuck around and scared him so good. I couldn't stop laughing.  You should have seen his face.  It was priceless. So also on Friday, my bike tire got flat.  Saturday, I got it patched up.  Sunday morning it was flat again and Monday I got the tube changed. It was a bad weekend for the bike.

Saturday, the baptism went great. The spirit was really strong and a great experience for everyone that was there. I got to baptize the two daughters. No mess ups, so I was excited about that. Then on Sunday, I confirmed the mom and oldest daughter and that was also a very neat experience. Once again no mess ups. It was one of the most spiritual experiences on my mission so far. Too bad we don't have baptisms every weekend. We also set a date for June 28th with a sixteen-year-old Michael Simmons, who finally got permission from his dad to be baptized. We were fasting about finding investigators, as well as specific investigators and on Sunday, we talked with or got referrals for a couple different people that could be investigators by the end of the week. Hopefully, while contacting people, everything will play out as it needs to. President interviews went well. He just went over the basic normal stuff, nothing stuck out bad or good. We were there with our district for almost 3 hours, so that got old after awhile. District meetings can only last so long.

Yesterday, for pday, we went to Wahoos which is a place that has laser tag, put-put golf,w and go-carts. We did that almost all day and it was super fun, but it wore me out. I'm still super tired from it today. Well that is about it for me. Hopefully we will have some more baptismal dates and investigators by next letter. I will be praying for all! Peace and blessing.

Love,
Elder Larsen
