First off, Mom, your comment about the baptism picture, "One of these things is not like the other," made me bust up laughing. I didn't know that you were that funny...I thought for a second that Chace may have written that and you were taking the credit, hahaha. Also, I haven't heard from my brothers in quite some time. I hope they haven't eaten dessert for several weeks! With all these weddings that I am missing out on, I hope that I am getting at least the wedding tie out of this!
So this week started kind of slow, but picked up. We tracted into this guy and talked about the differences of our church and some of the other Christian churches. Of course, the topic of the Trinity came up and I really just don't understand it. There are sooooooo many different examples of how that doesn't make sense in the Bible and Book of Mormon. You show it to them and you can see that they are stumped, but they just don't want to admit it. So stupid. I'm fine with believing in your own religion, but when there are parts that make no sense, then what are you really believing.
This week we found six new investigators and we set two more dates and might get another here in the next couple of days. So, the work is going really well. I'm connecting more and more with ward members and elders. We had transfer calls and I'm staying here with my companion. I figured we would and it should be fine. It's not the best of times or the worst of times. Six more weeks isn't bad and when the work is going well, my companion doesn't bother me as much. A lady that we are teaching made us some African dessert and drink and the drink tasted like liquid sour warheads that we used to eat back in Kansas. It was super weird.
We had to speak in church on what else than missionary work. The talk went well, but I wouldn't mind speaking on a different topic, hahaha, but that's probably not going to happen in the next couple months. We helped teach this English class to some Koreans and Africans and we were going over the U sound. They had words with pictures and one of the words was bugle and my companion thought it was said as bug : le insead of the long U sound. So he was teaching the girl the wrong thing and I had to help him out. So then to cover it, he said it used to be pronounced bug : le, but they changed it a couple years back.
So, I guess I talk in my sleep and two nights ago my companion said that I taught the entire Plan of Salvation. Nothing like doing work while both awake and asleep :). Last of all one of the elders that I'm chill with goes home, so he came and spent the night last night and we visited some families this morning. It was fun hanging with him, but at the same time it's so weird that they are going home when I have so much time left. But once he left, it's all back to normal. I'm loving the work right now! It's such a great experience to be able to share your testimony several times a day. I just wish that everyone would be more willing to accept it, but everything is on the Lord's time.
Well, that is about it for me. Oh mom, I got your letter and the insurance card is safely in my wallet. Things are going great and the work continues and its true. Love you all and best wishes to the two new newborns!!!
Love, Elder Larsen
