Week Who Knows

Well sounds like everyone had a good 4th. Ours was really laid back and relaxed. We just went to a breakfast and kicked it with elders and families in our ward. It has been so hot here and I'm glad there isn't too much humidity, but biking in this is no fun. Even buildings and cars are hot. I wouldn't mind going for a swim in the pool right about now.

Things with my companion are whatever. Needless to say I'm ready for transfer calls in two weeks. We get along well and all that, but three months is a bit too long. One of us should get transferred, but since we have been here the same amount of time, its tough to know who.

It was kind of a slow week and kind of a bummer. The two baptism dates that we had for the end of this transfer don't feel that they are ready and pushed them back (one to the 28th and the other we aren't sure). Not what you like to hear.  We have either taught or spoken in church every single week of this transfer.  It's good because the members trust us and give us referrals, but at the same time it gets old after awhile. The girl that got baptized a couple weeks ago got confirmed yesterday, and she asked me to do it. That was cool, but I didn't find out until right before, so I did get a little nervous.

On Friday, we had dinner and then went to teach the African family that we baptized and they insisted that we eat with them. I was already full and to top it off, the food was sub-par. I ate it, but it was tough. I took a picture and the way it looks is about the way it tastes.

We had a mission basketball tournament today and my team took 2nd. I got laid out seven times in the semi-finals and my body was so sore that I didn't even care about the finals. I'm pretty sore and hot at the moment. I can't really think of anything else.

Things with our investigators are stagnant for the most part. I don't know if I told you, but our mission president challenged us to read the Book of Mormon again before next zone conference.  So I'm in 2 Nephi and this will be the third time I have read it on my mission. Still finding new and interesting things that I didn't catch on every page.

Well, I think that is about it. Just ready for a change (comp or place...doesn't matter) but things are going great and the work is progressing! Love you all! Elder Larsen

  • African Food: Round 2 - Rice fish and casava leaves. Not delicious to the taste!
  • Pants after a long, hot day of biking!
