First Week in Payette

First week down in Payette. It went super fast, trying to learn the new area (tough to do when I'm not the driver), meeting the members as well as the investigators, and just enjoying being with a good companion that I'm friends with. It's nice having my own apartment.  The only downside is that when you run out of something, you have to rely on your companion and can't just ask the members for it until the next shopping trip.  All in all, it's a nice apartment and no complaints.

The work here is going so well. There are a lot of progressing investigators and we were able to find three more and one of them we think should be golden. My companion reminds me of Taylor so much. The comments, actions, and impersonations. It's super awesome being with him, but it made me pretty sad Friday afternoon when it hit me that Taylor was married or about to be. Glad to hear the wedding went well and the pics looked good! One down, one to go. So the other great thing about my companion and I is that we teach super well and in unison. My last companion was a great teacher, but was not a team player, so the change is well accepted on this end.

It's very nice to be in a car area once again. The only problem is that my knee hasn't been feeling any better with the break from the bike. I talked with the mission nurse today on the phone and she is going to have me go see an orthopedic to make sure nothing is wrong, but the mission insurance won't cover it since it was a pre-existing injury. So I'm going to call the doctor and make sure the family insurance covers it, but she thinks that it should.

So my first week I also had to give a talk. The past eight Sundays I've had to give a talk or lesson in church.  Its getting a tad bit old.  Today, even though it was pday, we thought we would be good Samaritans and go and help an investigator move some pipeline on his wheat field. Note to self, "I will never be a farmer!"  Pdays around here are pretty boring because there isn't a lot around and there aren't a lot of missionaries. So it's bitter sweet, but I like it so far. I've gone super healthy and watching everything I'm eating. I've been really proud of myself and hope to see some results.

Well, that is pretty much it. Nothing too exciting for the first week, just getting acclimated and doing work. Love ya' guys and can't believe Taylor is married and Cale is up in two weeks. Good luck to all.

Love,
Elder Larsen
