Eventful Week

This week was pretty eventful. One of my friends from my days in Declo went home early because of some past things, but is hoping to come back in three months, which would be cool because he was three months ahead of me and so then we would go home at the same time.  But we will see. I sent a picture of us saying good bye. I also got a member to put up my photos on facebook just in case my flash drive fails or something! To answer your question Mom, I use the one plate rule, usually decline dessert and eat more veggies and fruit than anything else. I am down to 153 this morning, so it is working. For snacks, I usually eat rice cakes or kashi bars. Things with no saturated fat and low sugar and fat. Anyhoot, it's challenging, but it works.

There are a lot of flies here. Seriously, in every place we go. It's getting old, but my reactions have gotten to where I can kill most of them. In one of our church libraries, they have Pistol Pete on VHS. It took me so off guard. What kind of church movies do they have out here?   All that means, Mom, is that we should have been able to watch that on Sunday growing up!

From our talks that we gave in sacrament meeting last week we got two new investigators that were there and we will be through lesson three with them tonight.  We gave them a soft baptismal commitment and we are shooting for Sept 1st.  We had the most lessons I think that I've had on my mission of 26 this week, so that is always good. We ran into this anti-guy that kept tossing out Bible verses at us and asking if we believed in them. It was the dumbest thing because we told him that we believe in the Bible, so of course, we believed in what he was saying. It was an interesting conversation. He kept trying to trip us up, but in the end, we said a prayer in the middle of Main Street and went on our way.

I sent a picture of us in the bed of a truck laying on a matress right?  So the story behind that is that we were helping someone move the mattress from house to house and didn't have any tie downs.  So we figured it would be heavy enough for the 20 minute drive. Halfway back, it flew out at 55 mph and luckily no one died. So, my companion and I rode on it the rest of the way back to weigh it down and it worked. It was super fun and made the day.  We also got a free futon out of the deal, so it was a win-win situation.

Well I think that is about it. Tell Cale and Katie good luck and hope all goes well. Peace and Blessings to all!

Love, Elder Colby Larsen
