Up and Down, but Mostly Up!

This week was up and down, but mostly up!  It was nice being back to me and Elder Dees for the whole week and so that was a plus. I guess I'll start out, we got transfer calls and I'm staying and got Elder West. I am finally senior companion (took a little longer than I would have thought, but its not my decision haha.)  My companion is from a small town in Oklahoma near the Texas border and has been out almost a year. He is the transfer ahead of me. President called me last night and told me that this is a test and in a sense that I will be babysitting him. He is supposedly a bit lazy and what not. I'm trying to have an open mind about him and just enjoy it. I've met him before and never was the biggest fan, but the great thing is that there is always an end if you like your companion or not. The work here is so amazing, so it will keep us busy and the busier you are the faster everything goes.

The past week we had a lot of cancellations with some of our prime investigators which was depressing, but we were able to reschedule for this week. The lady, Sarah Adams is the lady that has four kids, that we have been teaching.  I guess her less-active husband, who she is separated from, is giving her a tough time about wanting to be baptized. She is holding strong though, but at the same time it's frustrating that he can't see what happiness and peace will come from this.

For our last district meeting we made awards for each Elder and Sister (something funny that happened to them or something memorable). They were all pretty funny! I had the chance to baptize Chad Boren Saturday morning. It was my favorite baptism so far. The Spirit was so overwhelming and you could just see the happiness and joy in the room. They are such a cool family! We are hoping that their son will be baptized this transfer (Word of Wisdom issues is the only thing holding him back). After the baptism, we went to the Boise Temple Open House which was beautiful! I don't remember what it looked like before too well, but I did notice a coupe of differences. The Borens are planning on being sealed in a year, which I will still be on my mission, so I will be able to attend that. SO HAPPY!

After the temple I went and visited Sis Holyoak from my old area in Meridian. She is super cool!  One of my friends from college, Brooke Cunningham, was in town, so she came and said hi for a couple of minutes. It was weird seeing friends from the past. That night, the Catholic father that got me Los Cucos, took us to a fancy steak house since Elder Dees was leaving. It was the nicest place I've ever been to. Glad I didn't have to pay!

That is pretty much a run down of the week. It was a great last week, but I am bummed that Dees is off. Pray that the first week goes well. I'm a bit nervous, but I think it should be chill. I'm just worried how he teaches mostly.

Love you guys! Glad that everyone is safe and alive!
