Hello from Nampa, Idaho. So to start off, my companion is
Elder Mann, from Redlands, California. He is a really nice guy that I've known
before and I get along with.
The area is almost the exact same as my last area when I first got there. They only got seven lessons the week before I got here. This is two areas back to back that the area is suffering, but, oh well. We have been working on getting the work going, but I don't know the area or the people and its tough to do the work by myself. I've been doing a lot of pondering/praying to get some help. We were able to get sixteen lessons last week, but most of them were with members. We do have one good investigator that is nine years old. His mom is starting to come back to church and he is really smart. He should get baptized in about three weeks.
The members that I have met in the area I really do like. They are really nice and most of them are somewhat missionary-minded. I did a baptismal interview for our zone leaders and guess where it was?....In Cascia's old ward building, right across the street from her house. How weird is that? Pretty cool.
I am in a car area, but we have decided to start biking around sometimes so that the members can see us, we can talk to more people, and we can save miles. It's been really good so far and it keeps us more in shape.
The fireside last night was pretty bomb. It was a good rebuking to pretty much every member so that they can help us out in the work. I'm really hoping people will actually have the faith to act upon the things that were taught. I feel like sometimes we have to push the ward members harder than the people we teach. I don't know how soon some of the things will take effect, but I'm sure that it won't happen for a bit and I'll only be apart of it for a little while.
Well, that's pretty much it for me. The mission officially splits on Monday and we meet our new mission president this Saturday, so that will be interesting.
Love y'all,
