July has hit! So I am emailing today because as I was going
through my emails yesterday and fifteen minutes in, the power went
out at the FHC. So, we had to come back today to finish. It was pretty crazy. It
hit an all-time high this summer so far, 111 degrees. Can't beat that :(
Luckily I'm in a car, so I can't really complain since there are missionaries
that are on bikes. I remember last summer how that felt. This last week, I went
on exchanges with one of my favorite mission buddies from my very first area. That
was really fun.
We have been teaching quite a few over-age youth right now
and that is who is progressing in our teaching pool. We were able to get quite
a few referrals of part-member families and what not, so we are hoping that
something good comes from that. We were teaching this nine-year-old, Hayden,
whose mom is starting to become active again. We were teaching the commandments
and we got to the Law of Chastity. So we asked the mom if she would explain
that to him, so that there wasn't any awkwardness or have us say more that she
wanted. She said yes and went on to talk about how we need to make sure and
listen and pay attention and random stuff and then turned to me as if she was
finished...So then I was like, anyways, so the Law of Chastity is...and I went
on to explain it. She afterwards said that she thought the Law of Chastity was
to chasten (like rebuking or something). It was awkward.
We did a lot of service last week and I have some more to do
today in this wonderful weather which is always exciting.
We have met the new President Cannon 2.0. He seems like a
nice guy, but is very overwhelmed from what I have heard. He loves sports,
especially golf and basketball. So at least we will have that in common. I
haven't personally met him, but we have interviews this, week so I will get to
know him a little better then.
I got to go to Payette this week and it was awesome getting
to visit some of the people that I used to teach. Seems like things up there
are mostly the same. I went by to see Old Granny and she kissed me on the cheek
like ten times. It was awkward, but she is 87, so I think I'm ok, haha.
Not sure what all the plans will be for the 4th, but we have
a breakfast and bbq and that's about it. Maybe we will see some fireworks and
stop by and visit some different families. Nothing too crazy and exciting on
the mission. This is my second and last one though!
Love y'all and have a fantastic week. Peace and
Blessings!

P.S.- In the package I wouldn't mind some pistachios and
fiber bars!
