Well, it was another interesting week. Last Pday I went with
one of the APs golfing. It was a pretty easy course, but I shot +15, which
isn't too bad for not playing for over two years.
We had a really good lesson that night with Christina. She is super solid, but the only problem is that she wants her husband to baptize her. Her husband can't start the repentance process until after they get married (which they just did this weekend). So, even though they are doing great, they just have to wait some time. We have been doing a lot of contacting for the YSA ward, trying to get less-actives to come to church and usually they aren't interested or moved. So, we contacted this one door and the guy we were looking for doesn't live there anymore. There was a less-active lady that lived there that we talked to on her porch. She told us her life story and about her divorce and just a lot of craziness. We had a really good discussion though and I felt prompted to ask if she needed a blessing. She said yes. It was a really strong and powerful experience. It was really cool how the Lord guides you to people that you aren't even looking for. We got a referral from another set of missionaries for a guy that they had been teaching in our area. His name is Jesse. He is in his late twenties. He is a little bit slow, but really friendly. He really enjoys learning about the gospel. We challenged him to baptism for the October 12th and he accepted. He also came to church, so that was really awesome.
My very first zone leader and one of my APs came to town to visit and so me and another missionary got to visit with him. It was awesome to see him. He is heading to BYUI and living at Shelbourne, so I was getting a little trunky, but tried to refocus.
It did help that the next day we had a zone conference with Elder Zwick from the Quorum of the Seventy. It was a really great meeting and I took a lot from it. I have been trying to apply it in my life.
During the slow times, I have been dragging my companion tracting. We actually have had quite a bit of success with it. When I say we, it is because we are both there. But my companion didn't say one word in two hours, except for when we were walking door-to-door and when I turned and told him to share a scripture. I actually kind of enjoy tracting. It's fun to me. The only downside is I am tired 24/7. I don't know if it's being on a mission so long, the smoke in the air, or what, but no matter how well I sleep, or what I eat, or anything, I am tired. I have never felt like this for so long. I have been pushing through it for over two weeks. It is really weird because I don't have a cold or allergy signs, so I don't know what it is.
I found out yesterday that the Borens have really been struggling. Turns out that they have been having a lot of outside family issues and money issues lately. To top it all off, Terree's neice in Alabama got in a car wreck yesterday and is in critical condition and is close to dying. Her name is Jaclyn Rose Kuzniar. If everyone could pray for her and also if anyone that goes to the temple could put her name in the prayer roll or call the temple that would be awesome. I am really worried about them a lot.
To top it all off, my awesome amazing companion, I saw from recent history, has been texting his girlfriend. This is the third time and we have already talked with president about it. So, this morning, I tossed him the phone and told him to call President. Then we had a huge argument about it and pretty much he just said that he didn't care and what not. But after about 10 minutes, I got him to call and so President is interviewing him tomorrow. I'm just really tired of watching over or babysitting companions. I counted and this is my ninth transfer in a row that I have had an unmotivated companion, besides when I trained. And then I had to teach him everything, so it felt the same. I have really been praying hard lately and trying to have a good attitude. I'm just praying that I can get hooked up my last transfer so I don't have to struggle with others for my last six weeks.
Well that is it for me. Love you all and Happy Birthday to Chelsea and Grandma Womack and whoever else I am forgetting!
