Being a Leader

Another week has come and passed. It was a little different week since they took our two best wards from us. So, we had to do a lot of contacting and trying to work with the ward members to get them to help us out. Tuesday, I was at a loss of what to do since we had no appointments and nothing that looked promising. So, I was praying all day. Finally at about 6:00, we got a call from a member in Meridian that had a referral for us. It was a part-member couple that had been taking the lessons in his home, but lived in Nampa and wanted to do the transition over here. We went and met them. They aren't married but are getting married this weekend and then she will be able to get baptized. They seem really cool and they also came to church yesterday, so that was even better.

I'm trying to help my companion out and get him to be more independent as a missionary. Every other day I act like a brand new missionary and he has to be the senior and lead the area. It's been interesting so far because he still won't talk at doorsteps, or take the lead in lessons. But it's getting a little better.

We were out contacting all day Thursday and then all of a sudden we had a straight downpour of rain and hail. It was crazy. We hadn't got rain all summer. I was soaked. Right before the rain hit, we were contacting someone in an apartment complex and turned out he had moved. So, I just started talking with the new lady a bit and then we talked about the church. It turns out that she enjoys some of the LDS church beliefs (family values and activities) and so we had a short lesson right there. Then she said we could come back. So we have a lesson with her tomorrow. I'm excited about that. We have made some progress in the area, not much, but at least I can see some light at the end.

So, my old area got split in Payette and one of my good friends got sent there to shotgun train and they don't have a car. So, I went over there and helped him out and went to some of the old people that I used to teach. It was pretty cool seeing them and I found out that one of them should be getting baptized in October. I hope that happens.

Well, that's it for me. Love you all.
