This week was a pretty solid week. We had a great
appointment with Ben Cox. I think he knows the gospel is true, but doesn't want
to change what is necessary for him to be baptized. We decided to kneel and
pray for the closing prayer and the spirit was super strong and he actually
teared up. We really think he is progressing, but he didn't come to church
today, which was a bummer. Old Granny was at it again this week and keeps
telling me about the girl that I'm going to marry and how she will be just like
her. It's pretty funny. Chad Boren made a huge step this week during his lesson
when he decided to stop chewing and now all we need to do is get his son to
stop and we will have two baptisms at the end of the transfer. It was good to
see him make the next step. If he gets baptized, it will be one of my favorites
because their family is so dope and we really connect with them!
We had a baptism yesterday that went very well. It was just a nine-year-old that we have been teaching and I gave one of the talks at the baptism. I found out yesterday that a lady in my last area, Maria, that I told you died? Well I guess the guy that told my companion that she had died, lied. So they are back to teaching her and hopefully she will get baptized soon. That was the best news of the week.
Last night we ate dinner with a family that we eat with often on Sundays. Their kids are pretty crazy, but it's fun. One of the kids who is about six, thought it would be funny to put honey in my seat after we had dinner and were about to have dessert. So needless to say, I have honey on the seat of my pants. Luckily, it was just a pair of my slacks that are machine washable, so I think it should be all right.
I have a dentist appointment this Tuesday for a tooth that has been bothering me. I made sure that the dentist has our insurance. It's a guy from church, so I'm hoping he might cut me a deal or something. I was also wondering if you ever got my absentee ballet figured out so that I could vote? Thank you Mom for the package that came as a huge surprise on Saturday. You're da best! I'm super excited for General Conference this weekend and can't believe it's already been six months. There are usually so many inspiring messages, so we shall see what this weekend has in store.
Love ya' guys! Elder Larsen
