Remember the True Meaning of Christmas

My week was a good week. Mostly the same since I have been in this area 19 weeks now.  One of my favorite zone leaders is gone, along with all the other missionaries that came out at that time.  And a new batch is in.

Elder Martinez - He is from Peru, but has lived in Utah for the seven years before his mission.  He has a super thick accent and struggles speaking English.  It is super tough to teach because he doesn't know Preach My Gospel too well and trying to translate it into English, you can just tell he struggles with it.  So teaching-wise it feels the same as my last companion.  We have been getting along fine, but he gets on my nerves from time to time.  That's just what happens when you live with someone 24/7.  He is down to four  months on his mission and really lacks motivation.  We really don't have much in common, but we have the gospel in common, so that's all that matters. It's a work in progress.

So, on Tuesday we were helping Sis. Boren take down their air conditioners.  Right when we were about to leave, she came running inside saying that their two horses got out and ran across the way into this huge open field.  It took us 1 1/2 hours of running and corralling in our suits to finally get the horses back in their respective areas.  It stunk at the time, but it's kind of funny looking back on it now.

We are still working with Brandon, who is still doing great.   He hasn't drank in over a week and has been going to AA everyday.  We went with him on Thursday to the ARP meeting that the church provides which was a really cool experience hearing so many different addictions and seeing their desire to want to change.  We are still working with our normal investigators, but they are still struggling with church attendance.  We commit them, they say yes, and then they never show!

I got sick on Friday night so the weekend was a bit slow.  I'm still a bit under the weather today, but got stuff that needs to be done so can't really let it slow me down.  So excited that it's December and Christmas time! By far my favorite time of year (except it hasn't stopped raining the last 2 weeks.)   I have now been out twelve Fast Sundays and I've got twelve more to go!

That's about it for me!  Below I put my direct address for the holiday season, so that it doesn't get cluttered up at the mission office.  But starting the new year, go back to the Boise one.

Love ya' guys and glad everything is going great! Remember the true meaning of Christmas!
